Radio Brews News goes to war
In the lead up to next Tuesday’s screening of the documentary Beer Wars at The Local Taphouse St Kilda, today we meet the movie’s writer, producer and director Anat Baron. Anat tells us about the origins of the movie, the issues she faced getting it finished and then screened.
Next Tuesday Melbourne Beer Lovers are encouraged to head along to the Local Taphouse St Kilda to watch the movie and then participate in an interactive discussion with brewers from Bridge Road, Mountain Goat, Hargreaves Hill and Red Hill in which they relate the movie to the Australian marketplace.
Sydney readers can join in on 20 September at The Local Darlinghurst and discuss the movie with brewers from Murrays and 4 Pines, with others to be added.
Tickets are only $5 (to help cover the cost of the screening licence) and you just need to pay on the door. Doors open from 7pm and film starts at 7.30pm sharp.
Pete Mitcham and I will be at both screenings to moderate the discussion, so we look forward to you joining us.
We have copies of the movie to give away, thanks to Anat. Listen out for the code word to win your very own copy of Beer Wars. Send entries to win_stuff@brewsnews.com.au.
Also, if you like what we do here at Australian Brews News and want to support independent beer writing, you can make a donation – call it a magazine subscription if you prefer – to us. All donations assist us to improve our beer coverage and keep the conversation going.
