Joining forces, three ambitious and flavour curious Victorian producers – Anther Distillery, Blackmans Brewery and NED Whisky, tested the boundaries of flavour this year and created a first for Victoria – the Whisky Barrel Aged Gin Infused Cherry Porter.

Blackmans porter has been brewed, then aged for 6 months in ex-NED Whisky Barrels that contained 100kgs of Anther Cherry Gin infused hand-pitted Tasmanian cherries.

Dervilla McGowan, (Anther co-owner and Head Distillery) says, ‘This is a massive product and has been months in the making. We’re so excited to share it with everyone!’

Renn Blackman, (Blackman’s co-owner and Head Brewer) says, “This one is a pretty special beer. It was great working with two other amazing producers, and using products across whisky, gin, fruit, beer, and barrels. It sounds like there is a lot going on, but this beer is insanely balanced. It’s a journey for your mouth. All the elements come to the surface in their own way and make this beer extremely unique. I don’t think I’ve ever tried anything like this, very exciting stuff!”

This collaboration creates a unique NED expression through aging reserve NED Whisky in barrels that heldAntherCherry Gin. Next year we will double up with reserve NED whisky aged in Blackmans Porter Barrels to create a different flavour profile. Whisky Barrel Aged Gin Infused Cherry Porter | Blackman’s Brewery

Blackman’s Brewery has collaborated with Anther Distillery and NED Whisky on a new Whisky Barrel Aged Gin Infused Cherry Porter (6.5% abv).

The porter was brewed, then aged for six months in ex-NED Whisky Barrels that contained 100kgs of Anther Cherry Gin infused Tasmanian cherries.

Honest Lager & Refreshing Ale | Jetty Road Brewery

Jetty Road Brewery has announced multiple new releases.

Honest Lager (4.5% abv) has low bitterness and light herbal notes from traditional German hops,” according to the brewer.

 

 

Elsewhere, the brewery has also rebranded its Refreshing Ale (3.5% abv), which is brewed with Cashmere and Amarillo hops, with a new look.

Moon Dog Craft Brewery has released a new RTD range called Razzler (6% abv) which includes five flavours of Apple Blackcurrant, Lemon Lime, Orange Mango, Passionfruit and Watermelon.

The Razzler range will launch across independent bottleshops and on via Moon Dog’s online store this month.

 

Elsewhere, the brewery has also released its new Raspberry Ice Cream IPA called Splice of Heaven: Raspberry (6.2% abv).


Hakuna Ma-Guava | Urban Alley Brewery

Urban Alley Brewery has released a new Guava Sour Ale called Hakuna Ma-Guava (4% abv).

This release is brewed with Hallertau Blanc hops and has flavours described as “tart fruit salad and white wine” and is available online.


Peach Tree Mountain Saison | The Coastal Brewing Co.

The Coastal Brewing Co. has released its Peach Tree Mountain Saison (5.6% abv), which is brewed with peach puree and a farmhouse ale yeast, making it have a “spicy and crisp mouthfeel”, according to the brewer.

This release is available online, from the brewery and from bottleshops in NSW and ACT.
