Olympia | Hiker Brewing

Hiker Brewing will launch its cherry sour called “Olympia” (4.4% abv) on October 1. 

This cherry sour was brewed for Olympia Kwitowski, 4BC Brisbane’s Weekend Breakfast host. As a Brisbane local, Olympia took an interest in Hiker Brewing when it announced it would be opening just down the road from her. 

Pouring a deep pink, this cherry beer was fermented on coconut and 180 kilograms of cherry puree.

Beer Fontaine has announced the release of “She’ll Be Ripe” (8.3% abv). 

This Cherry Old Ale was barrel fermented with cherries and aged with an Old English Brett Strain. It features cherry and leather notes, slight wood tannins and a dry chocolate finish.

Akasha Brewing Company has announced the release of “Super Chill Lager” (4.2% abv). 

This brewery has formed a Super Chill subrand, with this lager joining its Super Chill Pacific Ale. Akasha founder Daven Padden and head brewer Gareth Bowen describe the beer as “a classic contemporary lager.” Colder fermentation and plenty of rest time are key to this release, which is made with chit malt, Saaz hops and lager yeast.

This lager will launch this week at the Akasha Taproom, and will be available online and in NSW beer venues soon.
