Gareth Skywalker Golden IPA, Nail Brewing
Nail Brewing has re-released its Golden IPA, Gareth Skywalker.
It was originally released in May 2015 and is now available as a limited release.
The 7% abv brew has been dry-hopped and includes Melba hops and pale malt.
Flavours to expect include passionfruit, white peach and tangerine, with a grapefruit bitterness.
It is now available in select retailers across Western Australia.
Three Fingered Jack, Wayward Brewing Co
Wayward Brewing Co has launched the latest in its Discovery series, a Barrel Aged Brett Saison.
At 5.4% abv it was brewed in collaboration with Mornington Peninsula Brewery during Waywards annual Brewer For A Day event in 2018.
Wayward say the primary ferment was carried out in three 500 litre French oak puncheons with Saison yeast aswell as three different Brettanomyces strains, followed by a further twelve months maturation.
It is available now from select stockists across Victoria, Western Australia, New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory.
Pineapple Brut IPA, Fixation Brewing Co
Fixation Brewing Co has dropped a 6% abv Pineapple Brut IPA .
It was brewed using Galaxy, Azacca and Citra Cryo hops along with fully fermented pineapple juice.
It has low bitterness and strong citrus flavours/aromas as well as conifer and bubblegum.
Available from the 19th of December, on tap at the Incubator tasting room.
Kiwi Lemon NEIPA, Burnley Brewing
Burnley Brewing has teamed up with brewers from Old Wives Ales for this collaboration, a kiwi and lemon flavoured NEIPA.
The brew combines Magnum and Lemon Drop hops along with 400 kilograms of golden kiwi fruit.
At 6.2% abv it is available now for a limited time in 375ml cans.
Jungle Juice, Dainton Brewery
Dainton Brewery has released a 6.5% abv hazy IPA, Jungle Juice.
It was brewed using Ale, Vienna, Crystal and Wheat malt. It also includes South African hops, Southern Promise and Alpha Queen to lend it tropical notes.
Available now at select stockists.
Swamp Thang, Mountain Goat Beer
Swamp Thang is Mountain Goat Beer’s new release 8.7% abv DIPA
Mountain Goat said they released its first Double IPA in 2010 so the brewery has decided to round out the decade with another.
The brew combines Strata, Columbus, Simcoe, Centennial and Australian Cascade hops.
Malts include Gladfield American Ale, Wheat, Vienna, Light Crystal and Redback.
It is available now at the Mountain Goat Brewery and selected venues.
Aperitivo Sour, Beerfarm
Beerfarm has released a 4.2% abv blood orange sorbet Berliner Weisse, Aperitivo Sour.
The beer is a collaboration with Perth’s Si Paridiso restaurant in celebration of the opening of its second venue.
It combines 50 kilogrammes of blood orange sorbet, orange juice and zest and rhubarb.
Magnum, Citra and Mosaic hops were used along with Pale, Cara-Pils and Wheat Malt.
Merry Berry Twang, Ballistic Beer Co
Merry Berry Twang is Ballistic Beer Co’s last beer release for the year, a berry sour.
The brew is a part of Ballistic’s rotating sour range, in which they add seasonal fruits and berries to their base recipe.
The festive sour combines raspberry, blueberry and strawberry with Lactobacillus Plantarum and Safale US 05 yeast.
It has an abv of 4.6% and includes Pale and Wheat malt.
The brew can be purchased in 375ml cans from selected bottle shops and the Salisbury and West End breweries in Brisbane, Queensland.
Strawberry Berliner Weisse, Mismatch Brewing Co
Mismatch Brewing Co have released an 3% abv Strawberry Berliner Weisse.
Pale Ale malt was added along with Hallertau Melon hops and flavours of melon and strawberry.
The base has been soured in their brewhouse kettle with the assistance of Lactobacillus.
Mismatch say they added fresh strawberry juice into the whirlpool to co-ferment with their freshly brewed wort.
Key Lime Smash, Stomping Ground Brewing Co
Stomping Ground Brewing Co have dropped a new limited release 4.2% abv Gose, Key Lime Smash.
Vic Secret hops were added along with Pilsner malt and Hoegaarden Ale.
Stomping Ground say that the brew has real lime and a splash of lactose to add flavours of pine lime.
It is available in their smash cooler boxes as well as on tap in select venues around Melbourne.
Sweetart Sour Ale, Bright Brewery
Bright Brewery has released a new 4.3% abv lime sour ale, the Sweetart Sour Ale.
The brew includes Crystal hops along with Pale, Munich and Wheat Malt with American Ale yeast.
Bright said they added Tahitian lime peel and whole Australian native desert limesfor a combination of fresh lime aroma and flavour.
It is available now in 375ml cans and 50-litre kegs at Bright Brewery and at selected venues.
Thundercloud IPA, Bodriggy Brewing Co
Thunder Cloud is Bodriggy Brewing Co’s newest limited release, an apricot and peach flavoured IPA.
The 6% abv sour contains Simcoe, El Dorado, Rakau and was dry hopped with El Dorado and Rakau.
Malt types include Maris Otter, Vienna, Wheat, Rolled Wheat along with London Fog yeast.
It has an IBU of 40 and includes apricot puree and a dried peach powder to create the tangy and tart fruit flavour.
Available to purchase in 355ml cans at the Bodriggy brewery in Abbotsford, Victoria and at select retailers.
Fathom, Green Beacon brewing
Green Beacon Brewing Co’s last release of 2019 is Fathom, a 7.5% abv Belgian style red.
It has been aged for 24 months in French oak barrels along with sour cherry and raspberry.
The brew includes Pediococcus and Brettanomyces yeast along with Sherry Flor.
It is available to purchase in 375ml cans on Friday 13th December.
Fiscal Damage, Deeds Brewing
Fiscal Damage is Deeds Brewing’s last limited edition release for 2019, a hazy TIPA.
At 9.5% abv it was brewed using Mosaic, Motueka and Mosaic Cryo hops with a dry hop density of 50 grams per litre.
Malt types include Lager Light, Wheat, Oat, Rolled Spelt and Dextrose.
It is available now at Deeds Brewery as well as on their online store.
Liquidambar, Newstead Brewing Co
Newstead Brewing Co have released Liquidambar, a 5.2% abv Amber Ale into their core range.
The Newstead team say the ale is themed after the liquidambar tree at the front of the Newstead Brewery, being the first thing you see when you arrive.
English hops give a marmalade and earthy spice with some bitterness along with Pale, caramel, biscuit and chocolate malts
It is available now on tap and in 375ml cans at both of the Newstead Brewery locations.
Beechworth Pale Ale, Bridge Road Brewers
The Beechworth Pale Ale is going in cans after 14 years as a Bridge Road Brewers core range favourite.
The Victorian brewers said there had been huge demand over the past two years for the Pale to be available in cans.
Founder Ben Kraus said that the Beechworth Pale was “approachable, aromatic and balanced”.
“In a time where the value of core range is being challenged, we place huge importance in having a beer that’s a go-to and an entry point for so many, yet manages to remain a benchmark for craft Pale Ale in the country,” he said.
The first run of cans will be available in independent retailers around the country next week.
Spiced Holiday Ale, Bright Brewery
Bright Brewery has launched a Spiced Holiday Ale as part of its 2019 Barrel Series collection.
The 11% abv brew has been aged for four months in red wine barrels.
It includes Pale, Crystal and Melanodin malt along with English Ale yeast and Ella and Super Pride hops.
Cinnamon, clove, allspice, ginger and cardamom have been added, contributing flavours of dried fruit and toffee, on top of the subtle red wine flavour, said Bright.
The brewery’s Barrel Series beers will be available from Bright Brewery, online and at selected retailers.
Follow Your Passion Brut IPA, Ballistic Beer Co
Passionfruit Brut is Ballistic Beer Co’s newest release, a passionfruit-flavoured Brut IPA.
Founder of Ballistic Beer Co, David Kitchen, said the brew was named in honour of those following their passion in life, like his oldest daughter who has just graduated University.
It was brewed with passionfruit pulp then dry-hopped with Galaxy and Mosaic to drive the fruit character, said Ballistic.
The 5.9% abv brew contains Safale US 05 yeast as well as Pilsner and Munich malt.
It is available at Ballistic Beer Co Salisbury, West End and at selected bottleshops.
Sonic Prayer Double IPA and Hazy IPA, Modus Operandi Brewing
Modus Operandi Brewing has dropped the last of its national limited releases for 2019, a Double IPA and Hazy IPA.
Both beers are based on Modus’ Sonic Prayer IPA, using the same hops and malt with two different profiles and results.
Galaxy, Columbus and Citra hops were added into both brews with more resin and pine for the Double IPA and more Galaxy in the Hazy IPA.
Dark Side Rum Barrel Stout and Bourbon Barrel Stout, Felons Brewing Co
Dark Side Rum Barrel Stout and Bourbon Barrel Stout are new limited new releases from Felons Brewing Co, sold as a pair.
Felons took its Imperial Stout and aged it in two separate dark spirit barrels to create the 12.8% abv rum and 13.5% bourbon stout.
Hops used include Ella, Fuggle and Pacific Gem along with Border, Dark Munich, Black, Roasted Barley, Chocolate and Dark Crystal malts.
Five hundred cans of each release will be available at the its Brisbane venue and its online store.
Heartacre Double IPA, Newstead Brewing Co
Newstead Brewing Co has released it’s Heartacre Double IPA straight to core range.
At 8.2% abv, the brew contains Amarillo and Galaxy hops and has citrus and stone fruit flavours.
It will be available from 7th December when Newstead’s celebrates its sixth birthday celebration.
