Entries opening soon for 2013 Australian International Beer Awards
Entries to the 2013 Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA) will open on Monday, 7 January 2013.
Now in its 21st year, the AIBA is presented by the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) and will combine its prestigious heritage with the introduction of changes in 2013.
The competition with be presided over by new Chief Judge, Brad Rogers, a highly experienced international judge and co-founder and head brewer of Byron Bay’s Stone & Wood Brewing Company.
The AIBA will be judged by an internationally acclaimed panel of brewing experts from Australia, United States, Europe, Asia and New Zealand.
New this year is the introduction of the Medium Brewery category and trophy, presented to reflect the growth and evolution of the industry, as well as a further two new trophies for Champion Australian and Champion International Beer in Show.
AIBA Chief Judge Brad Rogers said, “The AIBA continues to innovate and evolve to reflect the changes in the industry and is an incredibly relevant competition that simply promotes great beer and brewing practices.”
“Consumers are looking for indicators of quality. Winning a medal at the AIBA is one way a brewery can stand out from the crowd,” said Mr Rogers.
“The 2013 competition has new trophies, and high calibre industry expert judges, reinforcing the AIBA’s status as one of the most prestigious competitions of its kind,” Mr Rogers said.
In 2012, the AIBA reinforced its global status, attracting a record 1,344 entries from 41 countries around the world, including the United States, New Zealand, Belgium, Brazil, Germany and Norway.
