The sporting action all started on Saturday night with Australia defeating New Zealand in their rugby test match, and continued on Sunday with West Coast defeating Adelaide in front of their home crowd.
Gage Roads Brewing was awarded the Optus Stadium pourage contract at the beginning of 2018, offering ALBY, Single Fin, Atomic Beer Project Pale Ale, Hello Sunshine cider and Matso’s Ginger Beer to stadium attendees.
The sun was shining and the beer was flowing this weekend, with WA sports fans setting a beer record at Perth’s Optus Stadium.
A 2019 record was set for the most beer supplied across a weekend to Optus Stadium, with fans enjoying a double-header of international rugby and Aussie rules action.
While Gage Roads Brewing’s range of beer and cider was available inside Optus Stadium, the brewery and stadium also partnered over the weekend for a new pop-up bar.
The 1500 person capacity pop-up was running for both events, opening before and after each match. Along with entertainment and food, the bar stocked the full range of Gage Roads products in cans.
Gage Roads Brewing’s Key Account Manager Dan Moraday says it was great to see so many people enjoying Gage Roads Brewing’s range of beers and cider across the weekend.
“Gage Roads is proudly local and independent. Our beer is brewed just 14 kilometres from Optus Stadium, meaning our beer is as fresh as it gets. We’re glad so many fans got to enjoy a few Gage Roads beers while witnessing a couple of great sporting wins.
“It was also amazing to see so many fans come to Perth from interstate for the rugby test. For some, it was their first opportunity to try a Gage Roads Brewing beer or cider, with their feedback extremely positive.”
