CUB Marketing Chief steps down
All at Brews News are very sad to learn that CUB’s Marketing Director, Peter McLoughlin, will be leavingthe company forhealth reasons.
Readers may recall the interview that I recorded with Peter, best known as ‘Pod’, for a recent Radio Brews News . It was one of those interviews that really generates a lot of positive comment and feedback and that was largely due to the candour with which Pod discussed the numerous long-simmering issues I had with CUB over their marketing. From my relatively short period workingwith him, that’s the sort of bloke he is.
Podis certainly highly and affectionately regarded, both inside and outside the company. Since taking over CUB, SABMiller has placed significant emphasis on improving the quality of the beer that they have been producing. Pod has represented a similar change in CUB’s approach to marketing.
I join with CUB’s Chief Operations Officer Mike Walsh in saying that Pod will be sorely missed at CUB and in wishing him a speedy recovery. [MK]
