Melbourne Royal is delighted to announce the opening of entries for the prestigious 2024 Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA). Additionally, tickets are now available for the highly anticipated Trophy Presentation Dinner – an annual Melbourne Royal sell-out event.
The Melbourne Royal Australian International Beer Awards is hailed as the largest annual beer competition globally, evaluating both draught and packaged beer, along with beer packaging design. Having celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2023, the Awards attracted a record 2,826 entries from over 400 breweries spanning 21 countries — this event goes beyond mere sips and swigs!
Brewing excellence knows no bounds at these Awards, welcoming breweries of every size – from the boutique microbreweries to the titans of large-scale commercial production. Melbourne Royal stands as a global beacon, offering brewers a vital benchmarking opportunity through these prestigious Awards.
In 2024, the Awards promise to deliver a brew-tiful experience, awarding 11 major trophies, including the coveted Champion Australian Beer and Champion International Beer trophies, accompanied by an additional 24 category trophies.
This year, Melbourne Royal is excited to again confirm the presence of an international judging contingent, after their return in 2023 following the easing of international travel restrictions. Details of the panel will be announced closer to judging.
The 2024 Australian International Beer Awards also welcomes several exciting new refinements to the program, including two new additions to the 2023 Edition US Brewers Association Beer Style Guidelines, West Coast-Style India Pale Ale and Dessert or Pastry Stout and New World Lager being split into Modern Lager and Modern Pilsner.
