Entries open for 2021 Indies
The Independent Brewers Association has opened entries up for its 2021 Independent Beer Awards, dubbed ‘The Indies’.
Set to be revealed during BrewCon, this year at Sunshine Coast Convention Centre 31st August – 1st September, the awards celebrate Australia’s best independent breweries.
The IBA says it is a great way to benchmark quality against brewing industry peers, and the beers are judged by a broad range of judges, brewers and the wider industry.
Entries will close on 9th July and the Indies Awards Ceremony will be held at the Novotel Twin Waters Hotel on the Sunshine Coast on 1st September.
“This year we are back judging kegged product after a focus on packaged product only in 2020, and because of this — and the incredible growth of independent breweries — we expect 2021 to be our biggest and most competitive competition yet,” the IBA said in a statement to its members.
Members also receive discounted rates on entry fees and logistics, and the IBA has asked potential entrants to check out the Entry Guidelines and Style Guidelines.
Last year the IBA was forced to go online with its 2020 Indies ceremony, broadcasting the event to breweries and bars across Australia after more than 700 entries.
