New Beers Wrap
Melbourne Storm 2020 | Brick Lane Brewing
Last year Victoria’s Brick Lane Brewing released the first official beer of rugby league club Melbourne Storm, and while the season might have been shut down, the brewery went ahead and brewed a special edition Storm Lager anyway.
There are three different designs per case, and the sessionable lager is now available online for delivery or collection from the Dandy Bottle Shop at 41 Imagine Way, Dandenong South.
Customers can also collect cases over the long weekend from the Queen Victoria Markets.
Brick Lane will be open Thursday 9 April from 10am-3pm, closed Good Friday, open Easter Saturday 10am-4pm and Easter Sunday 10am-4pm.
Wooden Leg Triple IPA and Hazy Mosaic IPA | Akasha Brewing Co
Akasha Brewing Co’s Birthday brew is the Wooden Leg Triple IPA, available in the tasting room and making its way to stockists today.
Additionally, Akasha has launched its Hazy Mosaic IPA, a 6.2% abv brew with Akasha’s brewers’ favourite Mosaic hops. The team said it is “busting with tropical fruit, peach and melon on the nose and palate, balanced by a moderate bitterness and light malt base.”
El Capitan Hazy IIPA | Wayward Brewing Co
Sydney’s Wayward Brewing Co’s latest limited release is the El Capitan Hazy IIPA
The 7.6% abv beer is East Coast inspired, with a hop bill consisting of Galaxy, Bravo, CTZ with a dry hop of Citra and Simcoe.
Wayward’s brewers say it has “intense” layers of mango, papaya and citrus with a smooth mouthfeel and just enough bitterness to balance the ABV.
It is currently being canned fresh and is available to pre-order now. Wayward is also doing deals on its core range cases until the end of April.
Bao Bao Milk Stout | Black Brewing Co
WA’s Black Brewing Co has launched its Bao Bao Milk Stout.
“It is super smooth and sessionable. Chocolate is just the beginning,” said brewer Shannon Grigg.
The 4.5% abv milk stout is available in 375ml cans in 4 and 16 packs.
While the doors to its taproom are closed, the stout will be available at local craft beer specialist liquor stores this week as well as on Black Brewing Co’s new website www.blackbrewingco.com.au and from its Margaret River Cellar Door.
Thundercloud Vol 2: Ruby Red Grapefruit “Paloma” Sour IPA | Bodriggy Brewing Co
Bodriggy Brewing Co’s latest is inspired by the Paloma cocktail, consisting of grapefruit, tequila, lime and soda.
Comet, Motueka and Citra were used to dry hop.
The beer comes in at 6.7% abv and includes 220 litres of grapefruit puree, 80 litres of lime juice and 2kgs of pink Himalayan salt.
Archers Son IPA | Braeside Brewing Co
Coming in at 6.4% abv, Braeside Brewing Co’s Archers Son IPA is a cross between a West Coast and an English IPA, according to its brewers.
The team says it has toffee and caramel notes with freshness coming from Hallertau Blanc and Denali hops.
It’s available from the Braeside taproom, which is currently open for growler takeaways.
