People Moves’ compiles recent job appointments, promotions and departures within the brewing industry across Australia and New Zealand.

Lauren Jack | Boxer Brewing Co

After three years in senior operations roles at Ballistic Beer Co, Lauren has recently started privately consulting. Over the next several months she will be working with Boxer Brewing Co in Mount Tamborine as it works towards opening its new venue.

Clare Clouting | Athena Quality

After almost seven years at Good Drinks Australia in various Quality Assurance and Systems roles, Clare has started her own consulting company, Athena Quality.

 

Andy Scade | Consulting

After a lengthy career with Lion, Andy Scade has moved on to set up his own consulting business.  He remains the Chairperson of the Western Australian Brewers Association.

 

Lukas Kasuba

Lukas Kasuba | Mountain Culture Beer Co.

Lukas Kasuba recently started a new position as Brewer for Mountain Culture Beer Co, joining the brewery’s growing team in Emu Plains. This comes after Mountain Culture announced internal staff changes earlier this year. Kasuba previously worked as a brewery technician at Yenda Beer.

Vish Nayak

Vish Nayak | Pirate Life Brewing

Vish Nayak departed his five-year role as Senior Brewer at Big Shed Brewing Concern in May, taking up a new position as Brewer for Pirate Life Brewing. He has been working in the brewing industry since 2016, having also previously worked as an assistant brewer at Barossa Valley Brewing and The Lord Nelson Brewery Hotel.

Nathan Miller | Balter Brewing Co

Nathan joined Balter Brewing co in March as its National Field Sales Manager, based in Brisbane. This follows his departure from the Star Hotel Group, where he worked in a different national role overseeing merchandise and promotions.

Christian Giannotti | Mountain Goat

After working within the CUB Fire and Earth team as the VIC / TAS Beer Ambassador for a year, Christian has taken on the role of  Trade Marketing Manager at Mountain Goat.

 

Alistair Shortt

Alistair Short | Behemoth Brewing Company

Alistair Short joined Behemoth Brewing Company’s team in early May as the brewery’s new Auckland-based Sales Manager. He previously worked for Japanese-owned beverage company Frucor Suntory, which is headquartered in New Zealand.

Gavin McKay | Spinifex Brewing Co

Spinifex announced to members in late April the appointment of Gavin McKay as the new Chairperson for the Board of Directors.  In the announcement Gavin said:

“I was so excited and pleased to be advised that I had been appointed as a director and Chairperson of Spinifex Brewing Company.

Those that know me socially, are aware of the long standing interest and passion I have for Craft Beer.

I am constantly impressed with the people, culture and the products that this amazing segment of the beverage industry make available to an ever increasing number of passionate Australian beer drinkers.

As a Pharmacist, small business owner and director of an Indigenous owned business, I can’t wait to contribute my skills and passion to SBCo as they continue to progress their already impressive list of achievements.

With the executive and support team in place and numerous exciting projects nearing completion, I believe SBCo are set to carveout a unique and significant presence in the drinks and hospitality space.”

Trevor O’Hoy | Mighty Craft

Trevor O’Hoy was appointed in early April as a Non-Executive Director with Mighty Craft.   In the announcement to the ASX, Mighty Craft said:

“Trevor O’Hoy is a highly competent and respected businessman, following a 33-year career at Foster’s and is incredibly connected in the beverage industry. During his time at Foster’s, Trevor held several positions, including Chief Financial Officer and Managing Director of Carlton and United Breweries, culminating in him serving as Chief Executive Officer (2004-2008).

Since his time at Fosters, Trevor has had extensive board experience, serving on a variety of boards across the country, including consumer goods related directorships at Stone and Wood Brewing Company (up to and including its sale to global beverage company Lion), and was previously chair of Maggie Beer Products, Redcape Property Fund, Monash University Campaign and was the Executive Chair of Swisse Wellness Products.”

Allan Monshing | HPA

Allan Monshing has announced he will be retiring from Hop Products Australia this year as a farm manager after the harvest – which will have been his 50th hop harvest.
