BIRA 2021 quality scheme now open
Brewing Interlaboratory Reference Analytes (BIRA) 2021 is now open for registrations.
BIRA is a volunteer-run organisation designed to help low budget breweries verify their lab testing.
This can include bitterness, pH, colour dissolved CO2 and abv, which is important in verifying ATO obligations.
The scheme costs $150 for four rounds of testing over the year, which organisers say makes it accessible to smaller and lower budget breweries.
“Proficiency testing is a cornerstone of quality assurance, and is a great way of demonstrating and improving your lab’s ability to produce sound results,” according to BIRA.
Registration closes on 12th February.
