Thank you for your interest in the 2011 Home Brew Championships, which will be held at the Australian Hotel on Thursday 22nd September. We will have a select panel of judges, which will represent all aspects of the Brewing Industry to sample and determine the Home Brew Winners.

The beers will be judged in the following categories –

Class 1- Light Lager

Class 2 – Dark Lager (includes Amber Lagers)

Class 3 – Light Ale

Class 4 – Dark Ale (includes Amber Ales)

Class 5 – Specialty (includes Wheat Beer).

Points will be awarded for appearance, aroma, flavour and body, technical quality and style. Please indicate which category you wish to submit each beer into on the registration form, the beers must also be clearly labelled with the attached labels.

The submitted beers must be at The Australian Hotel no later than Friday 16th September, we will require two longnecks of each submitted beer for the judging.

The overall winner of the Home Brew Championships will win a stall to showcase their beers in their own stall at our 7th Annual Australian Beer Festival on Saturday 29th October, in addition to this we will fly the winner up to Byron Bay to brew with Brad Rogers at the Stone Brewery. Second Place will win their own stall at the Beer Festival on Sunday 30th October to showcase their own beers.

We would advise that around 20 long necks will be needed for showcasing on the nominated Beer Festival day should you be the lucky winner!
