The Australian craft beer industry is booming and brewers from across Australia will be showcasingtheir brews at the inaugural Sip & Savour Festival which will be held at Eveleigh’s iconic‘Carriageworks’ on 25 and 26 October 2014.
The two-day event featuring over 250 crafted beers and ciders is part of Sydney Good Food Monthand will officially close Sydney Craft Beer WeekWhile the conversion to craft beer has been slower in New South Wales compared to that of Victoriaand Western Australia; Sydney is now in overdrive with an increasing number of new microbreweries,specialty beer bars and cider houses catering to the quickly growing demand.
It’s timely we have thecreation of Sip & Savour to take Sydney’s craft beer scene to the next level.
While many Sydney pubs are still under the influence of the multinationals breweries; smaller moreintimate venues are opening offering a huge variety of beers. Restaurants are stocking more craftbrews and meeting the challenge of matching their menus with a variety of beers.
Event organiser Kieran Blood says a real feature of Sip & Savour is its ability to attract Australia’sleading boutique brewers.
“We’ve got a smorgasbord of award-winning beers! We’ve challengedourselves to deliver an event which matches Sydney’s love of food with the most creative brewingminds in the country.
“We’ve selected brewers from all over Australia who are creative and continually exceed consumer’sexpectations. Brewers who understand the complexities of matching beers with food and use themost innovative and freshest ingredients.
“We also have multi award-winning brewers who handcraft a world-class range of beers expandingfrom the usual to the deliciously unusual; many having developed cult like followings in theirrespective States”, he said.
Whilst Sip & Savour will predominately feature Australian beers, the event organisers have arrangedfor a selection of international brews available for tasting.
The Sip & Savour experience has been designed to cater for both the craft beer enthusiast andnovice alike – with education a high priority. Free master-classes will be on offer for all ticket holders,with brewers joining chefs and cheese-makers to cover a broad range of interactive sessions over thetwo days.
Festival organisers have offered assurance to patrons the event will be a relaxed and friendly environment, catering for families and including activities for the kids. The Sip & Savour event iscommitted to responsible drinking and does not promote mass consumption.
