BrewDog shuffle provides Australian guidance

BrewDog has shuffled its US leadership team with the Scottish-based brewery’s former American head tasked with supporting its delayed Australian brewery.

US Managing Director Tanisha Robinson has transitioned to the global role of Chief Disruption Officer, with duties that include “driving business model, product, and marketing disruption and innovation in the US and internationally”.

In a media release announcing the move, Robinson’s initial projects were said to include “rapidly scaling up the DogHouse hotel concept, canned cocktails, CBD beverages, and supporting the Australian brewery launch”.

BrewDog currently has no on-ground staff in Australia following the departure of its highly-regarded Australian head, Zarah Prior, as well as its marketing manager and sales manager within weeks of each other late last year.

Construction of its Brisbane Brewery started in December after an unexplained six-month delay.

Brews News understands that the Queensland Government, which lured the private equity-backed international business to Brisbane, expected a formal groundbreaking ceremony to commence construction in late December or early January. Unusually for the social-media-savvy brewery, no ceremony took place.

Brews News has sought details of what the appointment means for the Australian operation but is yet to receive a response.
