Number ten in the Critics’ Choice Top 100 is Murray’s Craft Brewing Company’s Angry Man Pale, which the brewers describe as their ‘idea of heaven. A hybrid of an American Pale Ale, combined with the classic English Pale Ale.’

The brewer’s notes describe ‘a full-bodied finish and complex character. The beer’s fresh citrusy/spicy aroma and flavour is strongly influenced by generous use of New Zealand-grown Motueka and Pacifica hops,’ while News Limited’s Mike Gribble calls it the ‘beer that defines the summer yearning of modern, sophisticated Australia.’

All I know is that if your local butcher happens to sell duck, veal and Cointreau sausages, this beer is the perfect match.

Established in 2005, Murray’s Craft Brewing Company pride themselves on being Australia’s most ‘extreme brewer’, but with such high quality and diverse product, they are also one of the most respected.
