Felons Brewing Co. have placed their two-time gold medal winning Champagne Sour Ale into can for their fifth packaged release of 2022, signalling the arrival of a frivolous Summer ahead! This latest limited release is a testament to the way the Felons brewers continue to brew outside of the box. Crafted with the unconventional addition of sparkling wine yeast, this beer is bright, bubbly and ready to raise to any cheery moment!

Brand Director, Dean Romeo, said “ I couldn’t think of a more fitting beer for refreshment and celebration during the summer months in Queensland! When we first brewed Champagne Sour Ale, a few members in the brewery recommended it become a part of our core range and after winning its second gold medal this year we were convinced it was the perfect beer to conclude our 2022 limited releases”.

Elegantly brewed with Hallertau Blanc and Nelson Sauvin hops from NZ, this beer is effervescent with vibrant gooseberry and passionfruit aromas upon first crack. Brewery director, Tom Champion, has said “ By utilising a variety of different ingredients, we’ve been able to push this beer into an exciting and new category! For this release we mixed sparkling wine yeast with NZ Hops varietals to create a delicate vinous aroma with a crisp and refreshing finish – all accented by the familiar tingle of fine, spritzy bubbles”. Pouring like a fine wine, this light beer perfectly balances crisp, tarte flavours with a fine beaded texture.

Proving to be a tinnie for the top shelf, Champagne Sour has earned Felons two gold medals since its first release in 2020 and the team are excited for its debut into the market as a packaged release. Produced in limited quantities, Romeo recommends to “Get your hands on it quick as it has a history of being the fastest selling beer on tap in our venues”. With only 7000 cans produced, this beer will be gone sooner than you can say cheers.
