Coca-Cola Amatil today announces the appointment of Peter West as Managing Director of the company’s Australian Beverages’ business.

An experienced professional in Australian and international FMCG, Mr West will join Coca-Cola Amatil from Lion Pty Ltd where he is currently Managing Director of the Dairy and Drinks business.

With more than 30 years of industry experience, Mr West has held several senior roles at Mars Confectionery and Arnott’s Biscuits Ltd including Regional President for Continental Europe for Mars Chocolate.

Coca-Cola Amatil’s Group Managing Director, Alison Watkins said, “Peter has a deep understanding of our industry and the Australian market, and a proven ability to work with customers and partners to drive growth and deliver results. He is highly regarded as a leader during times of change. I am delighted that Peter is joining the team.”

Ms Watkins said one of Peter’s first priorities will be working with the Coca-Cola Amatil and Coca-Cola South Pacific teams to deliver the Accelerated Australian Growth Plan, announced at the Coca-Cola Amatil 2017 Investor Day in November.

“The Accelerated Australian Growth Plan is a major investment in the business aimed at returning Australian Beverages to growth. With significant investment in marketing, execution, cold drink equipment, digital technology and price across the business, we are pleased to have Peter’s leadership to assure its delivery.

Ms Watkins also acknowledged the contribution of Peter McLoughlin, who has been serving as Australian Beverages Managing Director since March and will continue until Peter West’s commencement in the first half of 2018.
