Bourbon County Barrel Aged Stout, Goose Island Brewery
Goose Island Brewery is dropping their 2019 barrel aged stout in a limited release of 1,140 bottles and a limited number of 20-litre kegs.
The 15.2% abv brew has been aged in Heaven Hill Bourbon, Buffalo Trace and Wild Turkey barrels.
Flavours to expect are fudge, cocoa, vanilla, caramel, almond as well as leather and tobacco, according to Goose Island.
It will be available at selected venues and retailers across Australia with the first units available at midnight on the 29th November from online liquor store Boozebud.
Asam Boi Gose, Beerfarm
It is part of Beerfarm’s Weird Good Festival of the Sour, which will see limited release sour beers dropping throughout summer.
The salted plum sour is a collaboration with Singapore-based bar, Smith Street Taps, which aims to bring the unique tasting notes of Asia to Australian beer.
Every batch of the 4.5% abv brew has a slightly different flavour profile due to the different sugar and acidity levels in the plums, said the brewers.
Hops used in the brew include El Dorado and Mosaic from the US, as well as Australian Summer hops. along with Carapils, wheat, pale and rolled barley malts.
DDH Hazy IPA and Catharina Sour, Otherside Brewing Co
The DDH Hazy is a three-grain IPA that includes a combination of Kohatu, Rakau, Mosaic and Denali hops for their pineapple, melon and stone fruit aromatics.
It has been dry hopped twice and is low in bitterness with pale, wheat, oats and rye malt.
The second release, Cathalina Sour, has tropical fruit flavours from the added feijoa, passionfruit, mango and dragonfruit.
The 5.2% abv sour is named for the Brazilian state of Santa Catharina and contains Perle hops.
Both brews will be available at stockists across Western Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
Gelato Ale, Australian Brewery
The brew was created with a special batch of in house dulce de leche – a sweet confection similar to caramel, made at the Messina HQ in Rosebery.
Australian Brewery said after some trial and error and a few iterations of the beer recipe they feel they have perfected the Gelato Ale’s flavour profile.
The beer has fruity tones which are not too sweet, to allow for the flavour of the dulce de leche.
At 5.5% abv the Gelato Ale will be available on tap at select pubs across Sydney, in Dan Murphy’s, select BWS stores and other liquor retailers in New South Wales from the 1st of December.
Honey Red Ale,Cheeky Monkey Brewing Co
The Honey Red Ale has 5.2% abv and was made using 150 kilograms of honey, sourced from The Colony Concept’s bee hives.
Hops used include Centennial and Cascade along with malts including Pale, Cararoma, Carapils, and Carafa Type 3.
Aphrodite Lovers Ale, Lost Palms Brewing Company
The 4.6% abv brew has fruity notes and is described by Lost Palms as hop-forward (with the inclusion of Citra, Centennial and Amarillo alpha hops), with aromas of rosehip, gardenia and a light malt base.
The beer will released on 30th November at their Beer Launch Party hosted at their brewery.
The launch party will feature a skate demo, Aphrodite merch and music as well as a raffle drawn throughout the night.
