Prof’s Friday Funnies

{Relax, soccer fans, I’m not going to have another crack at The World Game (*chokes a little bit*) so feel free to read on. You might get a laugh, too.} {Oh, and apologies in advance to whichever sponsor’s ad rotates around beneath the picture in this story.}

It’s fair to say that the past month has been a fairly intense and, at times, frustrating period here at Australian Brews News. You could take but a cursory glance at the site and think that all we do is get caught up in loops of research and endless games of email ‘tag’ trying to track down the answers to beers’ greatest mysteries.

But we also have lives outside of beer and this website/news/blog caper can make you forget about the truly important things in life. I’m talking about ‘perspective’ and ‘vision’ and ‘angles’ and how sometimes the little things can take on a much deeper and more thought-provoking shade when other things get in the way.

Here at Brews News, Matt and I and the rest of the team who work hard to keep this boat afloat realise that being the only outlet to vigorously and consistently strive to uncover the truth as well as to celebrate the joys of beer means we also need to keep things in perspective.

To that end, I bring you a nice beery image to bring a smile to your dial. It was sent to me by a loyal reader whom I shall call ‘Mr X’ although his real name is Byron Brewedunderlicense and he asked that I not use his real name.

This picture highlights the points I was making in the opening paragraph; sometimes it’s just a little thing – like ‘angle’, vision or ‘perspective’ – that can make one seem thing so different to what you intended and lead to your message conveying a completely different meaning to the one conveyed. And I think there’s a lesson in that for all of us.

Carry on and enjoy your weekend.

Cheers

Don't worry - it took me about an hour...

Don’t worry – it took me about an hour… wait, that didn’t sound right, I meant … ‘about an hour to ‘get it”. Ooops. That’s worse, I meant, oh never mind. I’m off for a beer.
