The number of beer awards run each year in Australia is increasing, which is great for the beer industry as a whole. But there is something very democratic – and dare I say it, Australian – about a people’s choice beer awards.

The annual Local Taphouse Hottest 100 Aussie Craft Beers poll is growing to be the largest and most influential people’s choice poll in the land. Apart from providing bragging rights for brewers, the list of 100 beers provides a valuable insight into our beer drinking habits and the health of the Aussie craft brewing scene.

The 2010 poll is closing in just seven days time…make sure that you get out and vote on your five favourite Aussie craft beers. Apart from having the chance to win a case of each of the top five beers, your vote also contributes the historical record of Australian beer last year.

The ‘Hottest 100 Aussie Craft Brews’ online poll run from November 1st 2010 and closes at midnight January 16th 2011. The final 100 beers (listed from #100 to #1) will be announced on Australia Day.
