Brisbane Locals to enjoy Stone & Wood Brisbane Brewery by Spring 2019

With development now approved by Brisbane City Council, Brisbane beer-lovers are set to enjoy their own Stone & Wood brewery in Fortitude Valley by spring 2019, the independent Northern Rivers brewery has announced as the latest project update.

Late last year, Stone & Wood revealed its plans to construct a Brisbane brewing and tasting outpost inside a heritage-listed warehouse in the heart of Fortitude Valley, within six months.

Due to the nature of working with a heritage-listed structure, the opening date was
postponed to enable Stone & Wood and the building’s owner to assess its suitability and undertake any rectification work needed to install a working brewery. With absolute protection of the building’s integrity and heritage elements prioritised, work is currently underway to prepare the building across the coming months.

Despite the delays, the building’s historic façade and beautifully worn interior
continue to inspire Stone & Wood’s commitment to the site. Held there in November last year, the brewery’s ‘Brisbane Backyard Invitational’ fundraiser event offered attendees a taste of what’s to come.

With a development approval now secured and essential structural work underway,
the Stone & Wood team is excited about the project’s progress and looks forward to opening the Brisbane brewery doors in spring, alongside positive anticipation and support from the local community.
