Vale launches new Golden Ale
Fresh from sweeping a swag of gold and other medals at the recent Royal Adelaide Beer and Cider Awards, Vale Brewing has kept its golden run going with this week’s launch of its new Vale Golden Ale.
A select group of trade customers will be offered a sneak peek tasting of the new product at Adelaide’s Burger Theory on Tuesday evening August 11 2015 before being rolled out nationally.
Vale Golden Ale is currently available in kegs only but according to the Head Brewer at the McLaren Vale-based craft brewery, Jeff Wright, it is destined to become part of Vale Brewing’s core range, offered in both keg and bottle later this year.
“The batch we brewed for kegs as part of the refining process has turned out so well we’re now all systems go to have what we’re sure will be a real winner in bottles in the next few months ready for summer,” Mr Wright said.
Golden in colour and equally lavish in complexity, the 5.5 per cent alcohol by volume Vale Golden Ale is a malt blend of pilsner, wheat and Vienna, giving rise to a complex yet refined biscuit character.
The hops used in the brewing process include Enigma, Summer and Sorachi Ace.
“Having been filtered clear from yeast, the flavours are forever evolving and developing as you enjoy your drink,” Mr Wright explained.
“You get an initial vanilla hit before the palate is seduced by alluring hints of apricot, tangerine and rock melon, with mint, dill and lemon completing the flavour profile.
“You’re left with a clean lingering bitterness in the mouth – and a strong desire to have another glass.”
