The renowned cool-climate wine growing region of Victoria’s Yarra Valley, an hour drive east of Melbourne, now has its own Cider & Ale Trail for visitors to explore.

The seven beer and cider producers who built their businesses in recent years amongst the long standing chardonnay, pinot noir and sparkling wine producers have joined together to publish a new brochure and map for discovering the Yarra Valley’s other fermented beverage.

Reminiscent of Victoria’s High Country Brewery Trail, theYarra Valley Cider & Ale Trail guide provides a neat circuit around each of the region’s craft beer and cider destination, where you can discover the brewers and cider makers who are producing unique local beers and cider. Many of them also offer restaurants and cafes with a focus on local produce food.

The scenic trial across the hills takes in White Rabbit, Coldstream Brewery, Giverny Estate, Buckleys, Kellybrook, Hargreaves Hill and Napoleone & Co/Punt Road Wines. The guide provides the essential details of opening hours and travel distances between each destination.

“The emergence of several micro-breweries and cider makers in the Yarra Valley has captured the interest of food and beverage critics, local businesses and visitors alike and led to the creation of the Yarra Valley Cider and Ale Trail,” notes the team from Punt Road Wines.

Officially launched at the recent Yarra Valley Cider & Ale Festival, the brochures are now available from the listed brewers and can be downloaded below.
