On October 21, 2021, Cryer Malt and Yakima Chief Hops presented the Pink Boots Society Australian Chapter with a cheque for $6500. This donation will be used to further support scholarships for women in the beer industry.

The Pink Boots Society is a global not-for-profit association with a mission to assist, inspire, and encourage women to advance their careers in the brewing industry through education. For the first time, the 4th Annual Pink Boots Blend was virtually selected by Pink Boots chapters across the globe. The chosen blend was made up of Cashmere, Ahtanum®, Citra®, Loral® & Sabro® brand hops, creating a blend with tropical, herbal, citrus and woody aromatic qualities.

From November 2020 to August 2021, the 4th Annual Pink Boots blend was sold to more than 31 breweries and used at brew days across Australia and New Zealand. Yakima Chief Hops donated $6 per kilogram sold and Cryer Malt matched this donation, coming to a total contribution of $6500 to the Australian Pink Boots Chapter.

Cryer Malt has been distributing Yakima Chief Hops in the Australia and New Zealand region for the past three years with the support of Yakima Chief Hops ANZ Sales Manager, James Monshing.

“Yakima Chief Hops developed the Pink Boots Hop Blend to provide support to all the incredible women in the beer industry. It’s great to see more and more breweries getting on board with this great cause every year,” said Monshing. “We hope that this donation will continue to provide opportunities and education for local female brewers.”

The 5th Annual Pink Boots Hop Blend is currently available for pre-order through Cryer Malt. Yakima Chief Hops and Cryer Malt encourage breweries from across Australia and New Zealand to support this great cause and place their pre-orders with their local Cryer Malt Sales Manager.
