Australian band and brewery collaboration beer raises $10,467 for music workers in need

Following the success of a collaboration beer release with Queensland indie band Ball Park Music, TWØBAYS Brewing Co is delighted to announce a $10,467 donation to Support Act. The donation will help the charity in its tireless work to deliver crisis relief services to artists, crew and music workers in Australia, as a result of ill health, injury, mental health problems, or other crises that impact on an individual’s ability to work in music.

Customers, bottle shops and venues across Australia rallied to get behind the collaboration by sharing the project, ordering the beer and investing in the support of Australia’s music industry.

Ball Park Music’s single Cherub was voted fourth in the 2020 Triple J Hottest 100, and with two band members diagnosed suffering from Coeliac Disease, they collaborated with gluten free brewery TWØBAYS Brewing Co to create a Belgian Witbier called Ball Park Bloom. TWØBAYS made a donation for every can sold and every pot, schooner or pint poured.

“We couldn’t be prouder of the donation, and just know that it will have a great, positive impact on our industry mates in need,” said Ball Park Music drummer Dan Hanson who, along with vocalist Jennifer Boyce, suffers from Coeliac Disease.

“Thanks again to all of you, for not only helping to generate some much-needed money for our industry, but also for giving us the chance to collaborate and more importantly, to create a bloody tasty beer!”

TWØBAYS CEO and Founder Richard Jeffares added: “We were delighted to be able to give back to an industry that we all get so much from”.

“It’s been a really tough time for those who work in music and we really admire the way Support Act gets around those involved who need help most. It was a really fun project to work on with a brilliant band and, while the beer tasted great, we hope that it also sent a message to the Australian public about supporting our arts industry as the country opens up again. We were overwhelmed by the number of TWØBAYS fans and music fans that bought the beer – regardless of whether they can tolerate gluten. A huge thank you to everybody who supported the project.”
