BRICK LANE BREWING ROLLING OUT FREE MEALS FOR HOSPITALITY WORKERS EVERY FRIDAY IN MAY

Thanks to Brick Lane Brewing, Carwyn Cellars and Maha Go, Melbourne’s hospitality workers are being handed free restaurant quality meals through Brick Lane’s All Together Hazy IPA beer project.

Every Friday in May, Brick Lane is providing free freshly made Maha Go meals to hospitality workers to collect from the Brick Lane Bar at Queen Victoria Markets. Knowing the impact of the Covid-19 closures has had on the hospitality community, Brick Lane wanted to find a way to help according to Paul Bowker, Brick Lane’s Managing Director.

“The hospitality industry touches everyone in some way, whether your local café, bar, pub or concert venue. Hospitality workers are also the lifeblood of the brewing industry serving up our beers day in day out with a smile and a freindly ear. At Brick Lane we wanted to get behind the industry that gets behind us and do something small but meangingful – to return the favour and give our hospo friends a reason to smile.” Bowker said.

“The All Together Beer project is a global intiative and we’ve jumped at the chance to team up with Carwyn Cellars and Shane Delia’s Maha Go to roll out our meals for hospo initiative. Brick Lane has brewed up an amazing delicious fesh hazy IPA, Carwyn Cellars is using it’s shop and online store to get the beer into drinkers hands and Shane Delia is providing amazing fershly prepared meals from his recently opened Maha Go kitchen. The Brick Lane All Together Beer project is just one example of how the beer industry has jumped onto a number of intiatives to help out others through the uncertain times we are all living in.”

Hospitality workers who have had their jobs impacted by the Covid-19 shutdowns are invited to claim a meal via Brick Lane’s Facebook page everyWednesday in May, where a specific link will be available between 9am and 2pm (or until all meals have been allocated). Meals can then be collected at a nominated time on Friday from the Brick Lane Bar, located in String Bean Alley at Queen Vic Markets. Each session will have a limited number of meals available to help adhere to Victoria’s current government regulations and social distancing practices will be monitored.

The worldwide All Together beer collaboration was started by Other Half Brewing in New York City. Over 700 breweries across the world have now released a beer specifically to help out hospitality workers who have had their livelihood impacted by Covid-19.

Brick Lane brewed a Hazy IPA, a beer with big juicy hop characters of orange and lemon rind, peppery grapefruit and lush tropical notes of mango, lychee and pineapple. More importantly, every case sold provided a restaurant quality, highly nutritious meal to someone in hospo that isn’t able to work at the moment.

The All Together Hazy IPA is $78 per case and is available for pre-order on the Brick Lane website and through Carwyn Cellars with the beer set to be released from the brewery this Friday 15 May.

Bowker adds, “This limited release beer is a delicious explosion of juicy hops and has been made in a limited run of 500 cases, with small amount still available. Buy a case of this super fresh beer and we’ll povide a meal for our hospo mates. It really is as simple as that and to everyone who has so far pre-registered for a case, you are awesome and we thank you very much!”
