A Pale Ale sold exclusively at Liquorland, First Choice Liquor Market and Vintage Cellars has been named as the World’s Best Pale Bitter 4.5% to 5.5% at the World Beer Awards in London, which judged more than 3,500 beers from 56 countries over a series of blind tastings.
And the award was no flash in the pan, with the Tinnies range also taking out Australia’s Best Session IPA, Pale Ale and Tropical XPA – topping competing brewers from across Australia’s rapidly-growing craft beer industry.
A panel of expert judges made up of brewers, publicans and beer experts chose the Tinnies Pale Ale – featuring a balanced flavour profile of bitterness and biscuit malt, backed with stone fruit, pine and citrus characters – as the world’s best in its field.
Chair of the World Beer Awards Adrian Tierney-Jones said that the winners in the World Beer Awards show an exciting snapshot of some of the best beers being brewed across the globe today.
Coles Acting Chief Executive of Liquor, Cathi Scarce, said the accolade was testament to the hard work of Kade Wilson and his team of brewers at Brick Lane, who started making the exclusive beer for Coles Liquor to sell through Liquorland, First Choice Liquor Market and Vintage Cellars last year.
“To have this recognition as the world’s best beer in its class is further evidence that we’re getting it right by working with the best brewers to bring fantastic new products to our customers,” she said.
“Over the past 12 months we’ve won almost 200 awards and medals for our exclusive wines, beers and spirits – and we will continue to focus on delighting our customers and offering them world class products and choice to ensure that our range is reflective of the changing customer landscape”
Brick Lane brewer Kade Wilson said the brewery was excited for Tinnies to be named World’s Best Pale Bitter in the 4.5% to 5.5% range.
“It is such a privilege to brew each day at Brick Lane with our beautiful brewing equipment and to collaborate with Liquorland to make such exciting, high-quality beers,” he said.
“With Tinnies, Brick Lane worked side-by-side with our malt and hop partners, including a special trip to the annual Victorian Hop Harvest with the Liquorland team. We love that the attention to detail brought by both teams shines through in the final beer.”
Tinnies Pale Ale, IPA and Tropical XPA are $25.99 for a six-pack of 375ml cans.
Available exclusively at Liquorland, Vintage Cellars, First Choice Liquor and First Choice Liquor Market.
