Entries open for World BeerCup
Entries have opened for the2018 WorldBeerCup.
Held every two years, the event that describes itself “The Olympics ofBeer”, will take place in conjunction with theCraft Brewers Conference & BrewExpo America between April 30-May 3, 2018, in Nashville, Tennessee.
Winning beers and breweries will be announced on May 3, 2018 at theWorldBeerCupAwards Ceremony.
Online brewery registrationis open fromOctober 31, 2017 – November 14, 2017. Entries cost US$180 per entry.
The US Brewers Association has set up a consolidation points in Sydney and breweries may elect to ship their entries to the consolidation point instead of directly to the United States.
Australian breweries have had an increasing presence at the awards and in 2016entered a total of 111 beers making it the seventh most heavily represented country at the awards. Despite the large contingent represented, our brewers walked away with the two medals,James Squire’s The Swindler Summer Ale won Gold in the English-Style Summer Ale category, with Stone & Wood Pacific Ale taking Silver in the same class. This represented an award-winning rate of 1.8 per cent, behind countries including Japan (6.7 per cent), Germany (6.4 per cent), UK (5.3 per cent) and US (4.8 per cent).
