Good Beer Week returns to celebrate beer, delicious food and unique adventures

Kicking off on Saturday 20 May the 2023 Good Beer Week (GBW) program celebrates beer, delicious food, and unique adventures. Rejoicing with venues new and old, this GBW, pay homage to the golden drop with a program not to be missed. From unique flavoured beer to your classic pub crawl and even some bowling in between, this Good Beer Week truly offers something for everyone.

Join Co-Conspirators, The Foreigner Brewing Co. and Inner North Brewing Co for the Brunswick Brewery Crawl. A three-part brewery crawl through Brunswick’s back alleys showcasing the brewers’ different systems and beers.

A craft beer tour like no other, the Bayside Beer Belt Beer Olympic Tour. Festival-goers can choose from three BeerOlympic Tours, each visiting four breweries along a 27.5km stretch in Southeast Melbourne. With a game of day-long trivia, one team will earn a gold medal at the end of the day.

Held in the brand-new taproom at Local Brewing Co, participants can put their tastebuds to the test to identify secret ingredients in a game of Beer Flavour Bingo to win a killer prize.

For those looking for a tailored affair look no further than Swill Bar, who will be throwing a beer and aperitivo paired disco dinner. Festival-goers will get to meet the minds behind Molly Rose Brewing while Swill Bar whip up tasty canapés to feast on.

The Floating Swine goes to Hepburn, a collaboration with David Willcocks and Rob Kabboord of the recently hatted Surly Goat this event sees a five-course menu with paired beers celebrating regional beer and produce.

Hosted by Denmark House, Denmark vs Australia is all about discovering the diverse range of craft beers from Denmark and comparing them with Australia’s exceptional independent craft breweries. The evening will have a three-course sit-down dinner perfectly paired with competing craft beers from both countries. Let’s see which craft beer will come out on top.

Boilers House of Deeds, The exclusive launch event for a week of mischief and good deeds at Boilermaker House. Enjoy a range of specialty brews from Deeds Brewing, complete with merch giveaways, live music, and more.

An epic test of bowling skills in the Battle of the Bars, Brewers and Bottle Shops edition, this is a round-robin competition that celebrates Melbourne’s vibrant beer communities. 12 bars, 12 breweries and 12 bottle shops will go head-to-head, with the winners taking home a massive prize, and bragging rights.

Join the brewers and all those that make Good Beer Week happen in The Karaoke Party To End All Parties presented by Moon Dog Brewery. Everyone gets to sing their heart out at the unofficial closing party and see out GBW with a bang.

Presented by the Independent Brewers Association (IBA), Good Beer Week, the biggest beer week in the Southern Hemisphere, is an independent and not-for-profit festival that celebrates and promotes the renaissance that beer is enjoying globally. Since the festival’s inception in 2011, its central aim is to promote good beer and the community and culture that surround it.
