Having outgrown their old setup, KAIJU! Beer have been keeping busy over the past 12 months upgrading their brewery in Dandenong South.
With the new three-vessel 5,000L brewhouse, and Alfa Laval Centrifuge put into operation in mid 2020, the guys have been steadily upgrading since. Two out of five 15,000L fermenters on order have recently installed (they’re so big they required a crane company to fit them into the brewery!) followed closely by the new Krones Craftmate Canning Line which is being installed just this week and is capable of filling 15,000 cans per hour.
A less visible but equally important set of upgrades to the brewhouse have recently been completed, with local original equipment manufacturer (OEM), Deacam, completing the transition of the brewhouse automation system to their Fermecraft platform. This has resulted in greatly improved control over quality, consistency and efficiency.
A new Westrock Cluster packer is scheduled to arrive in October and will allow the brewery to produce more sustainable cardboard-wrapped 6 packs for some of their higher volume products, greatly reducing the brewery’s reliance on plastic 6 pack clips. Having extended operations into the adjacent factory in 2018, KAIJU! Beer now have plans to extend further to allow for the steady growth that the KAIJU! Brand has continued to deliver.
