Nail Brewing history
Nail Brewing started in 2000 as the first brewery in the Perth CBD. In 2004 John was assaulted with acute head injury and had to shut the brewery down.
The top half of Johns skull is titanium. After 2 years of recovery, John got back into brewing as a Gypsy brewer, brewing Nail beers in different locations.
John has brewed at Edith Cowan University Joondalup (ECU) for 6 years and in 2012 started brewing on his own brewery again in Bassendean.
Nail Brewing and Feral brewing shared a production facility called Brewcorp. The joint venture was aimed at producing quality beer at the best price.
In 2016, due to expansion, Brewcorp was moved up Collier Road 350 meters. Nail beers are still brewed with in Bassendean today (Nail Brewing is now brewed in its 5th brewery location).
Nail Brewing is an Australian family company, that only sells its beer wholesale. Nail Distribution is focused in Western Australia but is also distributed nationally.
Nail brewing has consistently won trophies in beer awards across the globe for over 10 years, winning over 35 trophies and over 40 gold medals.
Last year Nail VPA won 2nd place (silver) for its International Style Pale Ale at the World Beer Cup (the biggest beer awards in the World).
Owner/Head Brewer of Nail Brewing, John Stallwood said. “Its an honour to win in awards. Australia has over 700 microbreweries, which produces great quality craft beer. Some of the best beers in the world. Beating such great competition is an honour. ”
“The brewers start early and work hard. They have great passion in brewing all their beers. They will be so proud to hear the news back home.”
“When a brewery struggles to make money, winning awards help give confidence that we are on the right track.”
“I would like to thank all Nail beer drinkers. You keep my dream alive. If you believe in a dream than one day the dream will believe in you” John said.
Bassendean brewed Nail beers are distributed in both kegs and bottles throughout Australia. In all leading Independent WA bottle shops including Liquor Barons, Cellarbrations, Dan Murphy’s, BWS and First Choice liquor stores.
