New Beers Wrap
Splice of Heaven, Moon Dog Craft Brewery
Moon Dog Craft Brewery have launched a 6.5% abv tropical ice cream IPA.
The Splice of Heaven Pine-Lime ice cream IPA is brewed using Tomahawk, Kohatu and Citra hops, Pale, Wheat, Oats and Crystal Malt with a dash of vanilla.
Pineapple and lime notes contrast with the vanilla sweetness, according to Moon Dog, and the latest brew is available in 330ml cans and kegs.
Vodka & Peach Iced Tea, Brookvale Union
While obviously not a beer, this new addition to Brookvale Union’s lineup is interesting enough to get a mention.
The lightly carbonated peach ice tea-flavour drink is a 4% abv beverage, and will be launching nationally from early September.
Brookvale Union says its Vodka & Peach Iced Tea is “punchy, dark but light, straight but saucy, tight but loose”.
Queen of the Damned Red IPA, Akasha Brewing Co
Originally brewed in collaboration with the Royal Albert Hotel, Akasha Brewing Co has re-released its Queen of the Damned Red IPA, this time in cans.
Made with Citra and Centennial hops, this hoppy red IPA will be available again at the Royal Albert Hotel from Thursday 22nd August.
It’s also available at select locations, detailed on the Akasha website.
Nitro Double Fudge Chocolate Milkshake Stout, Green Beacon Brewing
Newly-acquired Green Beacon Brewing Co has launched the next instalment of its milkshake series, a Nitro Double Fudge Chocolate Milkshake Stout.
The 6.2% abv nitrogenated stout features notes of sweet cream, espresso and praline, according to Green Beacon.
It will be available from 1pm on 23rd August as an in-house draught exclusive alongside its two previously announced Fathom releases.
Hybrid IPA, Ballistic Beer Co
Brisbane’s Ballistic Beer Co has launched its Hybrid IPA in collaboration with Deep Creek Brewing Co.
Ballistic’s brewers say it has the grit and bitterness of a West Coast IPA with the dry hopping schedule of the East coast, with passionfruit and gooseberry aromas as well as bursts of pineapple.
It’s made with Nelson Sauvin and Galaxy hops, Pale and Munich malt, and US-05 yeast.
The Hybrid IPA will be available in kegs and cans from August 29th, at Ballistic’s Westend and Salisbury sites as well as selected bottle shops and venues.
Double Decade White IPA, Holgate Brewhouse
Holgate Brewhouse have launched a ‘Belgo-American’ IPA – combining citrusy hops and Witbier years for a Belgian twist on the IPA style, in honour of their ‘Double Decade’ 20th birthday celebrations.
The 7% abv beer uses Calypso and Mandarina Bavaria hops, Pale and Wheat malt as well as sweet orange peel and crushed coriander seed thrown in.
Holgate’s Double Decade White IPA will be launching at Bendigo on the Hop Festival on August 31st.
