Less than eight months since swinging open its doors in Busselton, Shelter Brewing Co has expanded its sales team and stockists.
Shelter beer is now available in over 100 liquor outlets across the South West and Perth.
Beer drinkers can find their closest stockists by entering their postcode on‘Find Shelter’on theShelter Brewing Cowebsite.
Shelter Head of Sales Jason Lane says the sales team has expanded to four with Dom Wundenberg servicing the south west, Mathew Dzodzos (Bars) and new recruit Justin Godber (Retail) both based Perth.
All three bring unique skills and experience with Dom Wunderberg coming from the brewery itself, Mathew Dzodzos from Gage Roads and Justin Godber from Carlton and United Breweries and more recently Brick Lane.
Shelter’s brand ambassadors do more than just sell beer, they promote the beer at festivals, hold beer tastings, activate bar promotions and most importantly they partner with our customers for innovative ways to give their customers a fun experience with Shelter beers in their venues.
Lane, a former Gage Roads brand ambassador and Carlton and United Breweries sales manager, says that Shelter is quickly growing into an iconic Western Australian craft beer brand.
“Shelter has received tremendous support from our local customers across the south west and greater Perth region,” Lanes says.
“Shelter is in the growth phase and looking to expand its footprint and customer base in WA.”
“With the brewery operations surpassing initial targets, we’re able to supply more beer for our customers in bars and bottle shops across the State.”
Shelter has the capacity to brew one million litres of beer per year and set the target to brew 400,000 litres in its first year, then increase production in line with demand.
Since November 2020, Shelter has brewed in excess of 300,000 litres of beer.
Shelter’s four core range of beers were awarded at the Perth Royal Beer Awards recently including the top prize in the Best Packaging and Design category for the Shelter Summer Sour.
Shelter Lager (draught) was awarded Gold, the Summer Sour (packaged) awarded Silver, and Shelter XPA (draught and packaged), IPA (packaged) and Summer Sour (draught) all awarded Bronze medals.
“Besides having lots of fun at different events around WA including Truffle Kerfuffle in Manjimup, Froth Town in Perth, WA Craft Beer Week and Fremantle Beer Fest, we’re on the lookout to support events and activities with our customers to get more people trying Shelter’s beers,” Lane says.
“I’d love to see Shelter beer available at more pubs, bars and bottleshops across WA and see people celebrating good times with a Shelter beer in hand.”
Lane says that there was an overwhelming positive response to Shelter’s latest limited release, the Campfire Stout.
“We took some customers to the Perth Barbeque School for a fun day of learning to smoke meats, which matched perfectly with the smokey flavours in our new limited release Campfire Stout.”
Lanes says Shelter’s next limited release beer is due out in spring.
Shelter beer is brewed in Busselton in Western Australia south west. It employs 140 staff making it one of the largest private employers in the region and has served about 450,000 customers since it opened.
