The nominees for the 2nd annual Time Out Sydney Pub Awards have been announced. The awards will return to Sydney’s favourite rooftop at The Glenmore in The Rocks on Monday 15 June from 6.30pm to recognise Sydney’s top watering holes and launch the second annual Time Out Sydney Pub Guide.

Time Out Sydney pubs editor, Emily Lloyd-Tait, explains: “Sydney’s pubs are the lifeblood of our city. They are the public spaces we treat like our own living rooms, gathering to raise a glass to life’s wins, commiserate over something a bit stronger and comfort ourselves with golden schnitzels and piles of chips.

“Tribes are founded over the love of the game, the love of live music and the love of silly knowledge that might win you a meat tray. Some of Sydney’s longest-serving hotels are getting work done, sprucing themselves up for a new round of craft beers. Others remain staunchly as they were, and we love them for their resistance to change. The Time Out Sydney Pub Awards are about celebrating our boozers and the good times they bring.”

There will be nine awards up for grabs including Pub of the Year, Publican of the Year and Best Pub Revival. Time Out’s team of experts will judge eight of the awards, while the People’s Choice Award, as ever, will be judged by Time Out readers. Readers have until Friday 5 June to vote for their favourite from the top ten reader-nominated pubs via the Time Out Sydney website.

Members of the public who love classic pub food, a cheeky drink and a proper knees-up are welcome to attend the awards. Tickets are $60 (plus booking fee) and attendees will be treated to beers from Little Creatures, cocktails from Canadian Club, live music from The Beans, great snacks, all the excitement of the awards themselves and a copy of the Time Out Sydney Pub Guide 2015.

This year’s winners will not only walk away with the glory and an honorary place in the Time Out Sydney Pub Guide 2015, but will also be fully kitted out by hospitality apparel label, Cargo Crew.
