As one year ends and we prepare to knock the crown seal of another new year it’s as good a time as any to reflect on what we’ve done here at Brews News. But in a beery way rather than a preachy, maudlin John Lennon-y way.

First a big thanks on behalf of the Editing team of Matt Kirkegaard and James Davidson and all the regular contributors here at Australian Brews News. Without you all clicking and reading and commenting and liking and re-tweeting and forwarding and whatever else it is you crazy kids all do with the content – well, we’d just be another half-read blog. Instead we are the leading source for beer information, opinion and news in Australia by the length of a Big Brewery’s bottling line. For that we thank you sincerely*.

To all our sponsors/partners/supporters who have tossed their hard-earned our way and have become an integral part of what we do here at Brews News – Thank You. Every time I see your logo pop up in an article I truly believe that a little Beer Fairy killed by those awful Canadian Club drinkers is reborn. It also gives a warm fuzzy feeling to know that we are bringing your brand to new sets of eyes every day.

Radio Brews News has been something of a surprise for both Matt and me this year and its success is due in no small way to the time and effort that Matt puts in doing the recording and editing required getting each episode up off the deck and into your eager waiting ears. The guests have played a major role in this success too and it has been a buzz to get your feedback on the people and topics we have presented. With Matt overseas on a well-earned holiday RBN will be taking a break over Christmas but will return in the New Year with plenty of new stories and old opinions to keep the conversation going.

On behalf of the Brews News family, I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year. I hope you get to satisfy your festive thirst with something nice and local and fresh and Christmassy. Like a fresh, crisp Pilsner. Originally from Pilzen. Where Good King Wenceslas came from. Or a nice hoppy Pale Ale. Hops look a little like holly if you tilt your head and scrunch your eyes up. Maybe a nice malty ale. Malt makes biscuits which you often see on the Christmas dinner table. You get my drift!
